Petrol Pumps in Bangalore
I would want this to reach as many people as possible..
Hence the 'Keywords' section below:
Petrol, pump, bunk, meter, cheat, cheating, reset, complaint, Shell, Good pump, distract.
If you are staying in Bangalore, and if you have a petrol/diesel consuming machine which runs on wheels, then you have faced this menace; in fact These Menaces!
1. Improper fuel refilling
2. Adulterated fuel
3. Fuel filled, but your fuel indicator is still where it was !
4. A drop in mileage. (you did not get the required quantity of fuel)
Welcome to Bangalore !
Customer satisfaction is a thing of the past..
Customers be alert, or you will be made a donkey of yourself
Here are a few observations which I have made over the past few years (3 years and 4 months, to be precise!)
Given below are a few "BLACK LIST-able" outlets:
1. BP, Advaith Pump, BTM
2. BP, opposite IBM, Bannerghatta road.
3. BP, near Eejipura, Inner Ring Road.
4. IBP, near Baskin Robbins, Kmgla 80ft road.
5. The pump near St Johns Hospital, Madiwala.
6. The Indian Oil (?) pump in BTM (roadside, on the left if you are going from BTM towards Jayadeva flyover)
For BP, there is an easy way to take action against the dealer:
Lodge a complaint at http://www.bpcl.co.in/general/gen_feedback.asp.
BPCL will cancel the dealership of the pump, if proven cheating.
There is a number which you can dial to report petrol related complaints : 9448102896
Best option : Shell pumps
Shell outlets:
Rajkumar Road
Tumkur Road
Vittal Mallya Road
Hosur Road
Brookfields
Yeshwantpur
Mysore Road 1
Mysore Road 2
Old Madras Road
Check the shell link for detailed info.
I'm no marketing guy for shell ;-)
But a victim of the Bangalore pump irregrularities..
Disclaimer : The details given above are my personal views and true to the best knowledge (Though I never tried calling that mobile number mentioned above)

shell petrol maybe costly.. haven't checked recently.. govt subsidies won't apply for shell..
Even if it comes at 1 or 2 extra premium bucks, you pay what you should pay. In other pumps, I wonder what we are paying for - for petrol ? for their service ? BTW, Sand, for that matter, even Reliance has its own pricing scheme. And both Reliance and Shell are trustworthy names. I used to be a big fan of BP, but these dealers will spoil it. Same, I guess, with other players...
I guess, when Sand said 'govt subsidy' he meant 'lesser tax/surcharge' :-D
