Wonderla

Sardi, Khaasi, Zukaam.
(Should be cold, sneezing, cough in some order)
That was my situation on Wednesday.
If a broken knee cant stop you from jumping on
the dance floor, forget about cold.
The conspiracy for a trip to Wonderla<1> on Thursday
took shape - Thursday is a holiday due to Ugadi.
(Anith, my colleague enlightened me with the info
that Ugadi is New Year. N added to it saying its
new year as per the Hindu Lunar Calendar.)
All my life, never got to see that calendar. But
who cares; a holiday is all that matters.

Roped in 5ppl. Sand, Jins, Alex, KK and me. Make
that 6. KK's brother is joining too.
On Thursday morning, msg ed Dennis. He is free. He
is joining too! 7 ppl. For us, 2 is a crowd, 3 is
chaos, 4 is a mob.
Wonder whether Wonderla will be able to handle
all of us

Den and I reached autobahn. Sand is almost ready.
There is Kiron, still sleeping peacefully.
An attempt to take Kiron along with us failed. Den
tried his best (Sand remarked to Den - You should be
a project manner. Smart at getting things done).
He managed to get a sleeping Kiron on his toes, ready
post brushing and bath. But Kiron had other bigger
"plans" in mind.

Started at 9.30. Collected Jins n Alex on the way.
KK n bro joined from BTM.
A couple of halts at ATMs to draw money..
Entry fee is 480<4> and Sand has come with 300 bucks.
Very smart :-)
Alex was the official navigator. He knows the route
well, coz his office in in the 'Global Village' near
RV College of Engineering.

Inside Wonderla at 11AM.
A quick change of dress and a dive into the pool.
The pool (called play pool) is right at the entrance.
So is always crowded.
When the waves started at the wave pool at 1.40, went
there. Had quite a lot of fun in there...
Noted theme park designer Thomas Jefferson<3> has remarked
that "The measure of fun you have at the wave pool is
proportional to the amount of water that gets into your
intestine through unsuspecting inlets"

Assuming this to be true, Sand had maximum fun.
Coz when it was lunch time, he barely ate anything..
Jins wanted a second serving of rice. Proves that he
knows swimming!

Kk had already changed to fresh clothes before lunch.
His bro followed suite, after lunch.
Kk "I have a back pain, and these rides are not suited
for ppl with back pains" - That is English in written.
But it was written clean on his face "These rides are
scary, I'm not takin any chances" :D
That was boon in disguise, coz he could take some pics
of the rest of the gang having fun..

While Sand n Den concentrated on pools, the rest of the
three (Rat, Jins and Alex) proceeded to dry rides.
The agenda was as given below:
1. Rat n Jins woould get onto every fancy scary rides.
Alex would sit down and watch
2. After the ride, Rat n Jins would continue seated.
3. Alex would ask "Is it ok?"
4. Alex would get in, based on a Yes/No from Rat.

During the second run, Alex would sit near me. And I
would start some conversation, for instance, the impact
of globalisation on the market rate of wool in the city
of New York. Alex too would chip in with suggestions for
topic like The impact of dry rides on the mental and
emotional state of human beings.
But still, nobody missed out on an opportunity to let
out that 1000W scream. So much of screaming that by the
end of ride, your vocal cords would be resting on your
tongue.

Going from one ride to the other was outrageously hilarious.
We were found running for life, as if if you miss
that ride, you will be denied net access in office.
(two if's , close together!!!)
Well, the reason for that run, the floor was TOO HOT.
Temperatures were in the mid 30's and the floor is laid
out of interlock concrete. Set your foot on it, and it
will become deep fried in 5 seconds!
Got some relief in the evening, when the floor was
touchable.. Thats when we realised time is running out,
so is the sun.
Alex had an appointment at 8.30.
KK n bro were idling too much that they too wanted to
pack up.

Back to changing rooms, changed to dry clothes.
A suggestion to have a bath was turned down.
Sand said "What were we doing till now?!"
:=S

In good clothes, went to see the musical fountain and
the laser show. It was tooo good !

Then we gathered at the exit.
Somebody who could count till 10 took a headcount.
Back to indica. Mysore Road..
Vroooooooooooooommmm....

Autobahn at 9.
Copied all the photos.
Back home at 10.15
ZZZzzzzzz <5>

Here are the photos

Tail:
1. Wonderla is from the V-Guard group. They have a
similar amusement park in their hometown Kerala, by
the name Veegaland.
2. Its an amazing fact that short-planned trips take
off and many long-term plans (Serbia for instance) still
remain on paper.
3. Do you really think there is a person by that name?
4. Ticket rate - 480 on holidays n weekends. 360 otherwise
5. Expected body pain the next day. But got up with no pain!
6. The trip was on March30, 2k6
7. How to reach Wonderla? From Bangalore City, catch the
Mysore Road. Travel about 30Km on the silk smooth MR.
You'll find big signboards on the way, near Bidadi.

Hi Ano, yeah we do have a lot of serious things, that we do as part of our daily routine life. This includes donating BMW's to old-age homes, performing Mime-show at the School for Blind, tarring the roads on alternate Wednesdays, discussing the threat of vulcanisation of rubber on the Serbian Economy. And do you still feel we are lazy?
