Saturday, The Fourteenth

Long time since all of us met under one roof..
(No.. we dint meet above any roof, either..)

And when KK offered a Birthday treat, nobody could resist.
Ppl poured in from across the state..
(Some of 'em came from across the country too - Dennis from Peenya)
;-)

Unlike our usual get-together/outing plans, this one was quick.
And that could be the reason why it took off :D

Borrowing Geo's words
"In our outings, 50% of the time is spent on planning..
And the other 50% never takes place"

Rightly put . hahahaaa..

We met at Autobahn
(Thats Geo/Kiron/Sand 's house)
I had picked up Jins on the way.

Going by the tradition, Geo was 'asleep'
He sleeps till lunch on weekends.
And the rest of the day is spent, sleeping, again !
(Well thats his version of the story.. There are other REAL versions too)

So here we were..
A quick planning.
Lets buy him a gift!

Everyone was shocked.
Gift?! What the hell for ???

That is how it goes.. Birthdays are for eating out. Only one person gets
to enjoy the monetary 'benefits' - paying the bill..what else ?!

But then, I told 'em..
Hey, its no hi fi gift.
All of u just donate 2 rupees to the KK Gift Fund.

now they got it.
Oh..
There you go.. Done!

Stopped at a grocery shop.
Bought the gift.
Packed it up nicely in gift wrapper.
The shop staff were amused, surprised and confused, all in one!
They murmured something in each others ears...
Who cares ?!

Back to Sand's Indica.
Off we go.

Reached KK's place at 12.
(Just a marginal delay of 2 hours)

Rushed in..Straight to KK's room..Singing(??) Happy Birthday in full volume.
And towards the end of it, dropped the 'gift' on to his lap.

KK was shocked, and put it down in split second..
Then picked it up.
Opened up with eager eyes.
Rest of the gang spotting the expression on KK's face...

The gift wrapper gives way to KK's claws..
Voila!

There you are !

Tomato !!
And that too.. 750g (not more, not less)

Kk was so moved...
Tears conquered the eyes (of those who bought the gift - thanks to kk's fist)
:D

The next 1.5 hours were spent breaking KK's metal single cot into two pieces,
right at the middle; 'composing' birthday tones on Jose's Casio Piano; counting
the birds that flew to the 1st floor thru the gate; and talkin to Sowji over
phone..

Sho joined the team shortly
China Pearl at 1.30pm
While getting into the hotel, the security guard at the door was told to
hang the 'closed' board on the door . hahahaa

Delays at such hotels are not lesser known..
But not this day.
Thanks to the howling, and roaring, and laughing that greeted the rest of the
silent diners - They opened the mouth only to stuff in that spoon..

Dennis came straight to the hotel.
1.5 hours of fun at the hotel.
we noticed the tables near ours going empty in quick time ;-)

KK "Dudes, I note that our influence is not felt in that east bound set of tables.
Lets direct the sound waves in that direction"

Making sure that nothing was left out to be tested.. rather.. tasted at the hotel,
we decided to call it quits.
And there was a relieved KK!

But then, we hadnt ordered Dessert.
All were full. But no one wanted to let go KK easily.
KK's facial expression now resembled those of the pug.

Jose "I don want dessert"
Rat "So what ? There is no harm in ordering"
KK "DAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Post Dessert
Geo "Do they have home delivery?"
Sand "Uh??"
Geo "I mean, do they deliver us back home? I'm not in a position to walk"

It was about 3.30 when we finally crossed the entry point.
Wonder, whether they closed the hotel for the week, for want of stock !!!
