Travelogue - In Infy

"Cant you stay back at home and relax, at least on a Sunday?"
Curious n anxious words of a loving mom.
And lil Rat at the rx-ing end..

But then, mom never says NO to anything that I do, or say..
There is an exception though. Once I wanted to pull the chair on
which a thick fat lady was about to sit with a handful of goodies,
at a restaurant.. Mom said "NO"

So barely a week after the successful Po Pondi campaign, here we are
for yet another outing. This time, its a small one.. A bike trip to
a nearby location. Of course, by this time (given u hav read all my travelogues ),
you would be smart enuff to guess the following points
1. The destination is not yet decided
2. Head count is an uncertainty
3. V already had a full-forum discussion on the outing
4. Items (1,2) and (3) in separate groups make NO sense at all

Its all the unique traits of our team.
No point arguing.. BTW, who to argue with ?
Nobody has any complaints (hope kk* doesnt read this line)

So here I am, having BF at 7.15 in the morning (just like my usual office time)
Then Dennis calls up. He somehow found the way to my home..
(That is a big danger-in-the-waiting.. The other guyz too may find the way home)

Athithi Devo Bhava.
So Den is given a share of BF.

He gets to meet all at home, and have a talk too..

Finally v start at 8.
Autobahn at 8.30.
No Geo! No Sand!
Only Kir, that too in his usual meditative position (read sleeping)


Kicked up Kiron, only to know that Sand is in his hide-out (onsite)
He came out in 10 mins..

Rat: Where is Geo ?
Sand: He'll be back
Rat: Went to play football?
Sand: No..To meet his bro's friend.
Rat: ok..

Geo came back by around 9.
After the initial round of firing, n throwing mud on to faces, v got into
the main topic.
"Where to go?"

sand: So, where ?
Rat: How far is mysore from here ?
Geo: its 200km.. not fit for a 9am start
Rat: &)&*()&*^ its all coz of you!
Geo: :-S
Rat: Ok. What about infy?
Sand: Hm.. that should be fine.
Geo: R u guys not happy with me living (and at times working) happily there?
All: NO
Geo: :-S Ok, then lets go :(


Called up rest of the gang..
KK - wont be able to come
Jins - hav got some household chores
Sho - is out shopping
Alex - (out of scope)

Managed to pool in Jins, given v start late.

So had lunch at madiwala.
And finally started at 1PM

Points to be noted at this point of time..
1. Now its no longer a one-day bike trip. We are in indica :-)
2. did i say (sorry, type) one-day trip ? Its NOT. Its half day :-))

Got into the campus at 1.56PM
(V r always tightly timed.. forgot to note the second hand of the watch)

At the gate, Geo fills up some kinda form...
Sand was escorted to a webcam to take pic for photo id card..
Rat followed him. But was pushed back. Only one person's photo is required

Inside the campus..
Its Geo's world..
He starts..

That is the food court. You get nice Pizzas here..
Thats the basket ball court.. We'll play on our back.
Behind the basket ball court is the food court..

Thats the pool. Water is always fresh n clean.
On the side is the food court.

That is..

Jins interrupted.. "Excuse me.. Do u hav anything other than foodcourt?"
Den "Yeah.. where does ppl go to sit n do work?"
Geo :-S Well, I assumed that You will assume that whatever is not foodcourt, is
a working place..
Rat "Oh yeah ?! And v dint see any such building till now!"
Geo "Ok. Then the next 30mins dedicated to cover the different work places"

At a building..
Geo "This is building num41. The latest. And this is where i work"
Rat "I have a doubt"
Geo "Shoot" >>>> In the backdrop, Den "Dishooom" , Jins "AAaaaahhh..."
Rat "Are the buildings named in the order they are built?"
Sand "No, the first building they built was building number 36. Then 23.
Then 17. And so on.."
Rat "Wow! You seem to know a lot about infy buildings!"
Sand " *IU(*&$)(*KJ)($ $*&)(*$ "
Rat " Okay okay.."

What Jins liked the best in the campus was .... The cycles !
There are cycles everywhere (motor propelled items r banned inside)
By the time, we came out, Jins had mastered the art of riding on a cycle!


2 hours in the campus was spent in a variety of activities..
1. Spottography
2. Cycling (wheeling included)
3. Basketball
4. Setting our footprints on all the foodcourts
(And setting Geo's fingerprints on all the bills)

5. Commenting on the architectural flaws in the structures
6. discussing why india referred iran to the UN
7. a brief chat on business ethics
But bulk of the time was dedicated to .. You guessed it right.. Tea Vada Jokes :D

3.55PM, and we were back at the gate.
The security took his cap off.
He could hav instead, just said 'Hatz off'


On the way back, through the 'scenic' Hosur Road, we took one more diversion.
Time for the multi-multi-million dollar question.
This time, by Rat
"Where are we going?"

Well, The diversion was to take a look at the infy cricket stadium cum helipad.
Covered those landmarks, and t'was time to pack up..

Dhakka Lakka Bukka..
Paathshaala
Khalbali
Teri To..

And back home!

Sand (thinks for less than 0.75secs) : 4rupees 50paisa
Geo "Phew.. That was fast"
The lady at the counter quit :D
