Hawkers on Stage! (June23, 2006)

Now that the chemical factory is in control, its the right time to write a few things about the most happening show in the planet! (which planet ? what show ? answers below)

A day for sound engineering, 4 days of rehearsal, half a day for costume designing, and we were ready for the show.

Amphitheatre - Anybody's dream to get on to the middle of this..
And we were getting on to it for the 2nd time, in less than 6 months..
That is some great achievement.

Now for ppl wondering what the show is all about.. here is the breaking news
Dance!
Yep, we danced on stage. A 6 member trip, we relived the bollywood experience with the following songs, in the same order
1. Aaja Aaja (Shammi Kapoor)
2. Khaike Paan Banaraswala (Big B)
3. Ek Do Teen (Madhuri)
4. Koi Kahe (Aamir) - boy , v r haunted by this number. Anywhere a stage is set up, we'll get on to do Koi Kahe :D
5. Rang De Basanti (Aamir, again?!)

A 9min 15 sec performance..
Absolutely tiresome.
But the crowd received it well (Do you expect me to type - the crowd howled and threw stones?)
:D

Enjoyed every bit of it..

One fun incident..
For khaike paan, i had to look like a paan eater, with red lips.
Now, the best way (?) for this is, hold your breath (no, thats not the way), to put on lipstick!
Thanks to N, she allowed me to borrow her lipstick :-S
And she went that extra mile to apply it on me too :D
There I was.. in a funny costume, with lipstick applied..
The comperer who peeped in during a break got scared.. She asked "Are you okay?"
I replied "Well.. err.r.. hmm.. uhh... yes" :-D
We were called upon stage soon, and thats when I saved myself from the gathering crowd in the backstage !

Another incident..
For khaike paan, we needed a short black overcoat, sleeveless..
Spotted a guy near the stage with BiNGO same kinda overcoat..
With utmost certainty that he wont give it to us, myself and N went to him..
"Can we borrow your overcoat for a while, its for a dance"
He dint say yes, he dint say no. Within a blink, the overcoat was in my hand !
We were more than impressed with that gesture.. Satish, a good guy !
He was the part of the Conference Room Facility (CRF)

(Later, after the show, he msged saying "Hi sir, you and madam danced well" )

After the dance , we spent some more time with the DJ nite..
N danced like a dog.. I too.. But then soon took up the role of the cameraman..

Left by 7.30
In office by 8.30. Discovered, that my jeans pant is missing..
Interestingly, my bike keys were in that jeans! Well and good..
A frantic round of call to locate the jeans wasnt fruitful..

Bin came to pick me up from office.
We went to MAS hotel. I had chicken biriyani..
And the rest, as they say, is history !
