An annexe to the Go Goa travellogue:

"Ratheeshey.. Ente bag onningeduthey.."

A very casual dicole from Dipu. But its not what it sounds like. There's more to it. Read on to find it...

After a highly successful Goan trip, the awesome four-some gang of Rat,Sand,Dipu and Ganesh lands

safely at the Bangalore Airport. All called home to announce the safe return. Me too called mom to say:

"Ammee...njaanethi ! Goayil vellathil irangi.. Bangalore-il 'Air Deccan'-il* irangi.. Ippozhum jeevanode undu".

Mom is the happy :-)

When the drizzling came down in intensity a bit, we set out for our trip to our nests.. Ganesh and Sand were

to the same destination. Dipu and me to a different destination.

Auto-ykku vendi ulla adi thudangi. Oduvil njaanum dipuvum jayichu. Ganeshineyum Sand-ineyum konjanam

kuthi kaanichu nammal auto-yil yaathrayaayi.. destination - madiwala MAS.

The discussion inside the auto was about the time management skills of ours, that helped us cover most of the

Goan Land in our 25-hr long stay in Goa.

Intel-inte office kazhinju.. Auto moved still further.

At a cut in the divider, a Maruthi stepped on to our road, in an effort to make a U-Turn.

Spotting our auto, he stopped, his car midway on the road.

Dipu and me spotted it very early. And I remarked (in my usual style "Ippam idichene" )

But the autowala saw it late. And when he saw it, we were at a 15m distance from the car.

he applied brakes. Auto started skidding on its back tyres.

Finding that the auto is heading for a collision, the driver, now turns the auto to the left.

And then the inevitable happens.. After skidding for a kool 10m, the auto toppled on to its side (the right side)

and skidded more...

And when I "booted" up, I found myself supported on my knee joint touching the wet road. Dipu was resting peacefully

on me. Dipu somehow managed to get out. In the process, he used his elbow to knock my nose..

With me still trying to figure out what/where/who I am , the first thing I heard after the accident was:

"Ratheeshey... ente bag onningotteduthey..." !!!!!

That was Dipu in his usual casual tone, but talking from the safer side of the Auto - the OUTSIDE !

Luckily for us, both of us (and the driver) were all fine. I picked myself up and jumped out from the auto.

(the exit of the auto is now on the top, mind you! )

The act next showed our coolness(or rather, lack of it).

Picking up our respective bags, and putting 'em on to our shoulders, checking that the 'Air Deccan baggage sticker'

was intact, and with all smiles on the face, we set ourselves .. walking and catching the next auto that came our way.

People had rushed on to the scene from all ends. And the scene was a bit on the worse side - with the windshield of

the auto tored up and lying on the road a few mtrs away from the auto .. The very fact that the auto rested on its sides

was enuff..

Cudnt stop laughing (for a moment, i thot, have v both gone mad, after the impact ?? ) all the way to madiwala in the 2nd auto.

Even found time to announce the deed to Sand, in full detail :-)

Well, there were a few scratches here n there. One on Dipu's left shoulder, one on my right knee. Kurachu paint avidem ividem

poyi ennathozhichaal .. no problems whatsoever !

As someone said, all that ends well, is well

* - Air Deccan had the honours to deploy Fire Service, on its Inaugural flight itself! The flight caught fire just b4 take-off

Pinnaamburam : Dipu's bag contained his 13K worth digicam. And hence his concern :-)

PS: Dipu claims that he had asked before getting out from the auto (and b4 his dicole), whether I'm OK.

I remember saying "i'm alright"
