Isnt it strange that "Jaago Re" would mean "Out, you white" if the space is re-arranged ?
Its sad that even after the whites are out long long back, we still need a Jaago Re campaign in independent democratic India for awakening. Better late than never :)
(That last line applies for me) :P

Looks like you're so obsessed with jago re and elections..
I've a different opinion about this year's elections..
Considering the recession and the job losses, govt of India should skip this year's election and continue status-quo for the next 5 years.
Even if the election happens (spending around 10K Crore I heard from somewhere), the same parties will get almost the same number of seats. So, what's the point?
So, instead of election, parties should be given an oppurtunity to re-align.. Like Jayalalitha to support congress, Left to support BJP, Shivsena to support congress. RJD & SP to merge. (All the post election dramas which happen every 5 years)
Then a new govt will be formed with new political equations and govt saves 10K Crore from treasury.
Election is the lifeline of a democratic nation. Recession wouldnt mean we stop buying grains. Instead, we buy sensibly. Your point is well noted. Election is one big extravaganza, with crores or rupees thrown around. I do not like comparing with US, but then, with recession hitting it big time, did they do any cut down - to any miniscule levels ? Nope! We have to stand up and speak. That what I did at my workplace today. Lets do our part and then complain :)
The most obvious election excuse is "All are alike. No one is good". There is a way out, I learn. Will write a separate post on GE. Till then Jaago aur Jagaao :)
I need an extra button on the EVM - "None of the Above".
I have my voters ID but don't think I can execute my vote this year...
