Lalit Modi - Who the Heck )*$)_($_

If I get an opportunity to assemble all the media persons covering the recent "IPL Season2 Drama", I would want to arrange them in a line, turn them around, and give whip onto their back. What crap! So much of drama... And of all the people on earth, who is this Lalit Modi ? What is his first class cricket batting average ? How many times did he get a chance to hold on to the ball ? 

And how dare he dictate to the Govt of India ?

This, even while the Otis-bid issue remains a hot topic of discussion. Then, the Govt had clearly said - No individual can dictate terms with the Govt Of India. The same rule applies to this Head of the IPL too.

The game has lost its charm. It has become very much like Tirupathi or Sabarimala, where commercialisation and profitability rules. Everything else takes the backseat. 

So what if IPL is gone out of India ? Does this affect any of us ? Does this affect the people of the country ? Is there a pro/con listing at all ? Let me try cooking up one:

1. Con1: Revenue/income loss - to the hotels, stadium, taxi's, mineral water companies, beverages companies

2. Con2: Millions of fans lose the opportunity to view the action live in the home grounds

And the pro's...

1. Pro1: Lesser traffic jams, lesser wastage of police/security forces

2. Pro2: More productivity (how?). On TV, its just about 3 hrs. A stadium affair costs you a day :P

There is a very big "hidden" pro attached to this IPL going out of India.

I'll leave it to your imagination, but to trigger the grey cells, do you think the attack on the SL team in Pakistan was an act of some local illiterates who prefer snooker to cricket ?!!
