Earthquake in Bangalore ??

Time 2.47PM. Friday, November 28, 2008.

I thought it was my chair..
But no, it was the entire building..
The tremor was mild, but notice-able.
And it went on for close to 10seconds.
I turned back to find my cube-mate too frantic and feeling the vibrations..

If it was me alone, then I could be assured its my mind gone dancing.
But nope !

Probably, the phenomenon existed in Koramangala alone.. Hope so !

Everything stable now !
(Me included)
:-)

Over and out

Of Wedding Bells & More...

The population of single's in the group is gradually diminishing. And the latest trend of this happening, is all but interesting. Of the 5 knots that happened in a little less than 2 years, all but 1 are "conveniently" arranged ones :-)

The shift in trend is evident. The literate high intellect Kerala crowd is finding it no difficult to embrace it and make no fuss about it. Or blame it on the high self-reliance of the marrying crowd which really gives the parents no choice at all ? But the ones that have happened do not fall in this category. That is a pleasant thing in itself.

The latest in the gang to get 'wedded' is our Ahuja Speaker fame KK :-) And such a lovely pair they make. Thanks to the wedding, got to catch up with a bulk of oldie friends under one roof. Also got a chance to barge into familiar territories and enjoy the hospitality and food alike :)

On the pretext of the wedding trip, we made a slight alternate plan and landed up in Vagamon! A small trio gang of Rat,Sow & Bin. It was nice to see a mini, lesser-commercialized tourist destination, at such a close vicinity. Hardly 70 odd km's from Kottayam town. And Thekkadi is just 76km from Vagamon. Had we got more days to spare, it would have been better !

Thanks to the shooting of the Jeyam Ravi starrer Tamil movie, with Arnold Schwarzenegger doing the villain's role, the decent resorts of the locality were booked out. And we had to spend the night in a luxurious 5-star , single-room, single-bed facility :P

A few pics of the trip:

Is that a screw ? A latch ? A question mark ??

I. Yesterday

  A. Your oldest memories

1. Driving my (virtual) maruti 800, fell head first onto a strategically placed solid sharp piece of rock. Blood all around the face. All cries, hugging mommy.. Her cream sari becomes all red.

[The incident/accident left a barren land on my right eye brow]. That was pre-school.

2. Fever, or so to say, uncle had to take time off from his office to take home the fever kid. And the young boy wanted to spend maximum time under the sun, while walking, holding the finger of the uncle - so that when mommy feels his forehead, there is "some" temperature. That was Grade 1.

3. A lazy starter in the morning, all envious of the bigger bro who had a holiday in school, got his first beating (and the last) when the school van honked for the 3rd time. Poor mommy.. She should have felt tons more than what the kiddo would have felt ... Grade 3.

4. Naughtiness and childishness rules. Pulled the chair when sis was about to sit. She dint cry (perhaps thinking her nat-kat but cutie kiddo  bro may get beaten up). But got very nice dose of scolding from dad. Dad was a dictator those days, and we mere spectators... somewhere around Grade 3.

5. First gift from school. For.... guess what... Painting !! The gift - a sketch pen set :-) Grade 4 or so...

6. First car! Dad got us a white remote audio controlled car that runs on battery. Boy that was some toy! Dad gave a round of demo, and placed it at the topmost slab of the shelf :-)

7. Made my dad n mom proud in Grade 10. Thanks to the oddly times xfer, getting into a school in the capital city was tough. But managed to get through into one of the top brass schools.. Come the results, the Princi sent a batallion home to congratulate. Dad and mom were summoned to his office. He recollected the admission day, the recommendation.. Felt so good for my dad, who had to run around to get me a seat!

Many many fond memories... but I stop here, to pick up the next section ...

  B. What were you doing ten years ago?

PDC I year, Brennen College, Thalassery. It was after a lot of consultations and discussions that we opted to get into a Govt College, letting down a private one. The interesting thing about this college - classes are from 9AM to 1.30PM. The whole noon is at your disposal, to spend time at home sweet home, watching all the stupid soaps - the likes of Shanti and Swabhimaan :) And those were the very few months of my student life, where I got to be at Aishwarya - my favorite place on earth.

II. Today

  A. Your first thought in the morning

"Sowji is still in bed. So I still have got time..."

  B. If you build a time capsule what would it contain?

What is a time capsule ?

III. Tomorrow

  A. This year…

The year is almost over. Accomplished a few things this year. One major thing being packing up the group for Goa trip. Completed 5 glorious years in the industry. The industry seems not to be a dependable bread earner, seeing the way the proceedings are. Need to pursue alternate options ? A studio ? :-P

  B. What do you see yourself doing 14 years from now?

14 years from now, I would be hiding myself into the bathroom, and dyeing whatever is left on my head :-)))
