Wedding Story - Part V

Day5 - Wednesday , Aug31

Me, mom and dad left again for the metro (should I say that again? metro

means Thalassery). Did some jewellery purchase..

Yellow coloured crap, selling like hot cakes..

I spent the 1 hr in the jewellery in 'miscellaneous' activities ;-)

Me and dad went to get my stitch removed..

I had 3 stitches at the place where my wisdom tooth, once resided..

Two of them got detached on its on, while gargling (spelling???)

The doc removed the third one in split second..

He said "You can go"

Me "What do u mean? I came here to get the stitches removed!!"

Doc "Its done"

Me was dumb struckk...

He dint charge a penny for the service :-)

Nice doc !

Wedding Story - Part IV

Day3 - Monday , Aug29

Now the 'chekkan' announced that he will do a walk-out from the mandap

if he doesnt get a juba and mundu.. Off we went to the metro in search of

juba. No shop in the metro has silk juba !

Bought shirts for cousins and returned..

Also bought mundu shirt for ammaavanmaar..

The major achievement of the day was that we bought thaali on that day.

Day5 - Tuesday, Aug30

To speed up things, arranged a taxi for the day - Lakshmanettan came

with his amby. Me, bro and chetttan left for kannur to get mundu and juba.

On the way, paid a visit to the furniture shop where we had ordered for

the kitchen accessories. He said , "ellaam ready-aa..", innu polishing,

naale fitting. Dad said "Aahaa.. Ennaal item onnu kaanattey.."

He "naale vykittu fit cheyyunnathaayirikkum". Dad "Njangal kandittangu

poyekkaam.. Ningal naale fit cheythaa mathi"

He took us to the work area.. There lies a few wooden pieces, nailed

together to form a rectangular frame. Thats it.

:-)

Anyway, we took his word that he will fit it the next day

(He did fit it, but a day later than he promised)

Reached kannur town. Cousin Dileeshettan came to help us out with

shopping. He knows the nook and corner of the town.

Got the mundu and jubaa.. That made my bro relieved..

Lunch at Ah! restaurant (Ah stands for Asian Heritage - that is the name

of the building which houses the hotel..)

On the way back, visited a few relatives, at their houses. Back home at 7PM

Cousins, me and bro left for shirt-pant shopping.

Me booked tix for frenz. Booked 5.

Got dresses for all of us..

Wedding Story - Part III

Sunday, Aug27

Dad left for official work early in the morning.

Well.. not so early.. at around 8. We dint see him leave :-)

Some relatives came home for visit.

Afternoon, me and chettan went out to some relative's house..

i got 2 cream cakes .. yummy :)

Then comes the first real preparation for the marriage..

Dress shopping for cousins..

Marriage is one occassion, where you can shop looking at the brand name,

and not at the price tag :-)

The bill is on the groom !

We left for Thalassery (metro) for dress shopping.

Such a calm and pleasant day..

Most ideal for shopping..

Not much of rush..

No heavy traffic..

And, NO SHOPS OPEN !!

Took 2 rounds around the heart of the 'city' in Zen, just to confirm our

finding. Confirmed. :-S

We were in no mood to return empty handed.

"Videdaa vandi marketilottu"

Vandi nerey fish market ilottu..

Bought ayakkoora (neymeen).

Kilo 90 uluva !

(minimum 15 piece undaavum.. Ee item fry cheythu bangalore-ilottu export

cheythaal nalla laabham koyyaam.. Piece onninu 40 roopa vechu kittum!)

Back home with that stupid smile on faces...

Anyway, fish was enuff to keep mom happy (and occupied till dinner time)

Wedding Story - Part II

Saturday, Aug27

Mom greeted us at the door.

Chettan slept till noon. I dint..

(coz he was sleeping on my bed) :((

Seeing me sitting idle, mom gave me work..

"Poyi athu vaangi kondu vaa.. ithu thaykkaan koduthittu vaa.. "

The next 2 hours saw me doing short distance shuttle services to shops..

Afternoon, my turn.

Slept for an hour..

Nothing great happened that day..

Dad (who was in an official - onsite - trip to Delhi) came home by 11.45PM

The day ended with no preparation whatsoever for the marriage..

Just another day..

Wedding Story - Part I

The first part of a huge series of storiess...
Its not my wedding, but my brothers..
And I opted to take 2 weeks leave for preparations :)
Wrote down all the stuff in my personal diary.
And later got it here....

BTW, the wedding was on Sep5, 2005.
Sorry couldnt invite you..
(This is just a formality statement)
:D
_____________________________________________________________

"Are you kidding?" asked my boss.

He cant be blamed.

When your subordinate comes to you and says "I'm going on leave

for two weeks" , how else can you react ?

(That too a krooshial member of the team, like me) :-)

That Friday, my manager was running heads and tails around me..

Get this done. Do that. Initiate this. Track that to closure...

Somehow, I managed to drag myself out of the office at 6PM.

A colleague dropped me.

I left my bike re(u?)sting at office..

Bro was waiting at Madiwala.

The very sight of mine took him by surprise..

"What did you do ? Who did this to your face ?" he asked.

That was the humor sense in him.. I had done a wisdom tooth extraction,

just a day back on Wednesday. (Was on leave that Thursday)

There was a considerable and notice-able level of unsymmetry on either

side of my face.. Right side protruding a bit outward..

7.30 and the bus came. We got a bottle of slice, for me to take tablets..

Kalasipalya at 8.15. Bus left from there at 9.15..

I plugged the mp3 gear into my ears

Yahaan… “Naam Adaa Likhna…”

Zzzz….
