"What you do on the first day of a new year, you continue doing all along"
No wonder why Dipu and Jins sleep all day, all year :-)
Going by the rule, I would be travelling all this year!
My new year was in bus.
Enroute Kerala.
Destination was Panthalam - Kiron's house.
The cause - attend Sho's sis's marriage.
To celebrate the new year, we had a bottle ready in the bus.
A 500ml pet jar Sprite..
Celbrated in style.
Reached Panthalam by around 8PM.
Sand, Geo and kiron received us.
A quick round of formalities - brushing, bathing etc.. - and we were ready.
Yummy breakfast on table.
Had food. Got into the car.
A mitsubishi lancer - silver color.
A beauty to drive (no, i dint drive; the vehicle is still in one piece)

IN the church at 11.
The proceedings had just started.
We were on time.
Met Sho, some of his uncles..
And we never miss an opportunity!
Unc: You all work in the same company ?
Sand: No
Unc: You all stay together ?
Geo: No
Unc: Then how do you meet each other ?
Rat: weekends-il nammal koodaarundu
(giggles all around)
Unc: No wonder, Sho is putting up so much of weight!
The church formalities went on for 1.5 hours.
Meanwhile, we went out for a short on-foot sight seeing..
Discussions on a wide variety of topics - from Hutch to enfield to fishing !
Back to church.
When it was food time, we were found waiting near the entrance of the still-to-open
food hall.
Yummy food. But the team couldnt have a good polling..
Standing under the hot sun took its toll !
By 1 o'clock we were ready to quit.
We set out for a 4-hr on road tour.
Covered a fishing beach, a normal beach, paddy fields, canals, back waters,...
The sight at the fishing beach was awesome.. The entire shore was covered with
fish being dried up under the hot sun.
And boats carrying the fresh catches arrived in tandem..
Alleppey beach was a scenic place- with an abandoned seabridge, rusting into its
core.. Geo was found doing all sortsa acrobatics and photographics..
Summersault sideways, dropping down forward straight..
Taking photographics laying flat on the wet sand, saving himself and the camera
from the rushing waves,..
And he had a good viewer-ship. The ppl in the beach gathered around to watch his
gimmicks :-)
5PM
Smi's house.
She is the classmate of the rest of the gang - and my batch mate.
Its her marriage the next day.
And she made a big mistake - She didnt invite me !
But then, I created and opportunity for her to correct her mistake..
Stepped up straight into the house.
"I dont mind being a distinguished guest. But for you, not to feel hurt, I prefer
to be an invited guest"
She got the point, invited me straightaway :-)
Wondering whether there has ever been such a kinda invitation !!
Snacks and mosquito bites from there.
Smi's mom compelled us to have food.. But it was getting late..
Back to our HQ - Kiron's house.
Night driving at 110kmph is fun!
Back home at 8PM
Bath, food, chit-chat, sleep - at 10PM

The plan was to get up at 7, leave at 8.
First part was done. But getting out was delayed.
Out at 9AM.
Joe had come on his Esteem.
The team was Joe, Rat, Kir, Sand, Surji.
The drive was about 120km long.
Covered in good time. Got gift also..
A soda maker - will be useful to her day ;-)
Met some old friends - and their kids !!
Cameras clicked on end..
There was scope for that ;-)
Food was delayed a bit..
But that increased the appetite..
The polling was great.. All of us got a second round serving..
Even the dessert was not spared ;-)
By 3, it was time to leave.
Went to the town.
visited Marine Drive, and the Bolgatty Palace.
Left for Sand's house by 4.
Sand's dad had come for pickup in his brand new Ford Ikon.
Refreshments at home.. chit chat.. back to the bus stop.
